The exam syllabus lists the musical terms in alphabetical order–so helpful when looking them up–dictionary style. But it’s also helpful to group them by function! For example, here are the music terms listed from slowest to fastest. (Please note that on some lists, lento is slower than largo, but we made this list based on the RCM definitions!
- largo
- larghetto
- lento
- adagio
- andante
- andantino
- moderato
- allegretto
- allegro
- vivace
- presto
- prestissimo
